Cher Reminds Everyone She Doesn’t Like Madonna By Dissing Her On ‘Ellen’

The pop icons’ decades-long feud may very well be on again.

The odds of Cher and Madonna finally doing a duet together are looking about as good as the “Believe” singer tweeting without a single emoji. In other words, it’s not happening.

The “Mamma Mia: Here We Go Again!” star stopped by “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Monday to talk about her new ABBA cover album, but ended up reigniting her long-dormant feud with the Material Girl.

During a segment called “5 Second Rule,” Cher was asked to answer a variety of questions as a clock ticked away, and when she was tasked with choosing three celebrities she wants to duet with, the game took a delightfully shade-filled turn.

“Oh, Adele, Pink, and, uh, um, not Madonna,” she said right out of the gate.

“Well, all right, Ms. Negative!” said DeGeneres, who couldn’t keep herself from laughing.

“Did I cheat?” the “Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!” singer asked.

“He said, ‘You’d want to.’ It’s not who you wouldn’t want to,” the daytime talk-show host explained.

Cher fired back, “I took a little license.”

And things had been going so well between the two icons.

The singers recently joined forces at the 2017 Women’s March in Washington, D.C., where they both gave impassioned speeches railing against President Donald Trump.

They were later photographed looking friendly backstage, suggesting that all was right in the pop music world.

Of course, their relationship over the years has been rocky at best, with Cher making a handful of bluntly critical public statements about Madonna.

“There’s something about her that I don’t like. She’s … mean. I don’t like that,” Cher said during a particularly candid CBS interview in 1991.

“I remember having her over to my house a couple of times, because [Sean Penn] and I were friends, and she just was so rude to everybody. It seems to me that she’s got so much that she doesn’t have to act that way,” she said.

“She acts like a spoiled brat all the time. And it seems to me when you reach the kind of acclaim that she’s reached — and you can do whatever you want to do — you should be a little bit more magnanimous, and a little bit less of a c**t.”

But years later, Cher clarified that while she might have taken issue with Madonna’s behavior at the time, there was always a lot of respect between the two.

“I never hated her, I just thought she was a b***h. Actually I quite respect her,” wrote Cher during a Reddit AMA in 2013. “Actually I think Madge might be one of the most amazing artists I’ve known. I don’t like everything she does, for sure, but she is always riding the crest of the wave. She always saw trends WAY before anyone else, and had great videos.”

Madonna has yet to weigh in on Cher’s most recent comments ― she did move halfway around the world, after all ― but she’s also never been one to hold her tongue.

Feud Heating Up? Cher Shades Madonna by Revealing She Doesn’t Want to Duet with Her

Don’t hold your breath for a Cher–Madonna collaboration.

During her recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Cher, 72, threw serious shade at the Material Girl, going out of her way to declare that did not want to do a duet with her fellow pop queen.

As Cher and DeGeneres played a game called “5 Second Rule,” Stephen “tWitch” Boss asked Cher, “Name three celebrities you’d want to do a duet with.”

Cher replied, “Oh, Adele, Pink, and, uh, um, not Madonna.”

After the crowd roared with surprise, DeGeneres shot back, “Alright, Miss Negative. He said, ‘You’d want to.’ It’s not who you wouldn’t want to.”

Cher answered, “I took a little license.”

Cher and Madonna, 60, have a rocky history. In 2012, Cher tweeted, “Wtf is mdna,” likely referring to Madonna’s 2012 album MDNA.

When a fan asked “Do you still hate madonna?” during a 2013 Reddit AMA, Cher replied, “I never hated her, I just thought she was a b—. Actually I quite respect her.”

The Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again star continued, “Actually I think Madge might be one of the most amazing artists I’ve known. I don’t like everything she does, for sure, but she is always riding the crest of the wave. She always saw trends WAY before anyone else, and had great videos.”

She concluded, “So, besides saying ‘WTF if MDNA,’ I’m fine with it.”

That same year, Cher complimented Lady Gaga to USA Today by praising Madonna. “Gaga’s got ‘it,’ the way Madonna had ‘it,’ something that made you stop and go, ‘What’s that?’” she said. “It’s not just crazy clothes. Madonna had her ear to the ground and knew what was coming before anybody else.”

In January 2017, the music legends met up at the Women’s March.

Cher Shades Madonna, Says She’d Never Want to Duet With Her

…The 72-year-old pop star has some fun teasing Madonna on Monday’s episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show when she and the talk show host play the “5 Second Rule” game, and are given only five seconds to answer three questions.

When asked for three stars she’d like to duet with, Cher responds, “Adele, Pink and not Madonna!”

Cher has a long history of giving her candid opinions about Madonna. In a 1991 interview with Steve Kmetko, the “Believe” musician didn’t hold back sharing what she really thought of  the 60-year-old “Material Girl” singer.

“There’s something about her that I don’t like. She’s mean, and I don’t like that,” she said at the time. “I remember having her over to my house a couple of times because Sean [Penn] (Madonna’s ex-husband) and I were friends, and she just was so rude to everybody. It seems to me that she’s got so much that she doesn’t have to act the way that she acts, like a spoiled brat all the time. It seems to me that when you’ve reached the kind of acclaim that she’s reached, and can do whatever you want to do, you should be a little more magnanimous and be a little less of a c**t.”

By 2013, Cher had changed her tune when talking to Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live. “I’m totally good with Madonna!” she insisted. “Madge and I have gone through our thing, but no, I’m totally good with her.”

In addition to throwing a little shade at Madonna while on Ellen, Cher also has some choice words regarding reality TV. “Bachelor, I don’t watch that or any of the Housewives of East Bumf**k, I don’t watch them,” she quips.
