Madonna is being accused by many online commentators of using the recent terrorist attack in Paris to promote her album Rebel Heart.
The 56-year-old posted a series of photos to her Instagram to offer support after 12 people were killed in the gun attack on French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo’s Paris offices.
But as Madonna offered encouraging words in the captions for her social media images, she also provided some hashtags which were in promotion of her new album.

MADONNA has been slammed by fans today for posting a picture of her and Ariana Grande partying.
More than 24 hours after Monday night’s Manchester bombing, Madonna, 58, uploaded a picture to Instagram of her and Ariana, 23, with their arms wrapped around each other and pouting at the camera.
Madonna wrote: “Thank Goodness my friend is O’K. Lets all pray for the innocent victims who are not ok. For their families and for Manchester
However her followers were left reeling at the picture and the words the singer had chosen.
One wrote: “She should NOT use such a tragedy for self-promotion!!! Another picture and words would fit better!!!!”
And many more believed that Madge should have been focussing on the 22 dead, 59 injured, and nine people still missing from the atrocity, before namedropping Ariana.
One fumed: “Being thankful that Ariana is ok should have come at the end of her post, it should have been respect for the dead children that should be foremost in people’s minds not being thankful that ur multi $ celeb friend is safe, very selfish post by @madonna [sic]”
Another called it “narcissistic”, writing: “This post was so damn unnecessary!!! Think more before you post this kind of s***!!! over the top narcissistic….
Another simply said: “Me me me me me me me me me me and me only me.”
One pointed out that she uploaded the controversial picture of her daughter and a “cocaine” cushion before paying tribute to Manchester.
“And it’s only taken you a day to realise? Ariana ok? What about the families? Post your ridiculous cocaine cushion pictures first, that’s your priority!!!!”
And others pointed out that the post echoed Kim Kardashian, with the reality star also posting an Instagram snap of her and Ariana partying that many deemed inappropriate.
“It’s as ridiculous as Kim Kardashian posting a picture of her & Ariana partying..??? WTF get a grip people.”
While Madonna may have missed the mark with her post, many other famous faces across the world shared their shock and paid tribute to those who lost their lives.
However, Madge followers were adamant at the way they felt the Material Girl should pay her respects.
“Not the best tribute. Sorry @madonna

Madonna has been slammed by fans over her ‘narcissistic’ and ‘self-indulgent’ tribute to the Manchester Arena bombing victims.
The Like a Virgin star, 58, joined the scores of celebrities who took to social media to pass their condolences to the families of the 22 gig-goers who died after the terrorist attack at Ariana Grande’s show.
Alongside a snap of the star posing alongside a pouting Ariana, she wrote: ‘Thank Goodness my friend is OK.
‘Lets all pray for the innocent victims who are not ok. For their families and for Manchester.’
However, her ‘vain’ choice of picture has riled her followers, who also claimed the star was ‘insensitive for focusing on the singer rather than the innocent gig-goers who lost their lives.
One wrote: ‘Being thankful that Ariana is ok should have come at the end of her post, it should have been respect for the dead children that should be foremost in people’s minds not being thankful that ur multi $ celeb friend is safe, very selfish post by @madonna.’
Another fumed: ‘This post was so damn unnecessary!!! Think more before you post this kind of s***!!! over the top narcissistic…. ‘
While one commentor wrote: ‘She should NOT use such a tragedy for self-promotion!!! Another picture and words would fit better!!!!’
The backlash comes after Kim Kardashian also came under fire for posting a picture of herself in a tribute to the victims.
Taking to Instagram on Tuesday to share her shock and sympathies, the reality star, 36, shared a well-intentioned throwback snap of herself with sister Kendall Jenner and Ariana, which she accompanied with a touching post.
The mother-of-two wrote: ‘I’m praying for everyone in Manchester. This is truly so senseless & heart breaking.
‘I can’t imagine the fear and agony these parents must be going through searching for their kids.
‘Concerts are supposed to be a place where u can let loose and have fun. It’s so scary to not feel safe in this world. My heart goes out to @arianagrande I love you.’
Despite her sweet words, several fans were offended by the choice of picture, as they questioned why Kim had included an image of herself in the tribute.
…On Tuesday evening a suicide bomber – now named as Salman Abedi – blew himself up at Manchester Arena during Ariana’s Dangerous Woman tour, killing 22 people.
ISIS have claimed responsibility after the terrorist set off a ball bearing bomb at an Ariana Grande concert, killing 22 and injuring 119 in the worst terror attack Britain has seen since the 7/7 London bombings.
Eight-year-old Saffie Roussos, 18-year-old Georgina Callander and 26-year-old John Atkinson were among those killed. Of the injured, at least 12 were children were among 59 taken to hospital, with 60 others treated at the scene.
Ariana was one of the first stars to share her sympathies, posting: ‘Broken. from the bottom of my heart, i am so so sorry. i don’t have words.’
She has now suspended her Dangerous Woman tour.
